Protect the structure of the letterform
A good bead letter keeps its baseline, major strokes, and interior gaps stable even when viewed quickly. That matters more than ornament. If the diagonal in an A or the open side of a C collapses, the pattern stops being useful as a letter no matter how attractive the colors are.
These templates are intentionally bold, which makes them easier to combine into names or short labels. Start with one initial, confirm that the physical size is readable, then expand into a pair or a short word.
- Check counters, diagonals, and baseline alignment before adding borders.
- Leave spacing between letters before you commit to a shared background.
