Separate pattern cells from board capacity
A pattern's width and height describe cells; a pegboard's dimensions describe available positions. Divide each pattern axis by the usable board axis and round up. If your boards interlock or have connector edges, use the manufacturer's usable count rather than assuming every outside hole is available.
The smallest mathematical arrangement is not always the easiest physical arrangement. Leave room to align boards, protect edges, and move your hands without catching a neighboring section.
Plan seams where the pattern can forgive them
Place a seam through a quiet background or a straight color field when possible. Avoid splitting eyes, lettering, thin diagonal lines, or a one-cell outline. Export the chart with board tiles so each section has an obvious overlap or coordinate reference.
For the 70 × 54 landscape, two boards across and two down provide 84 total board slots before alignment. The extra capacity is useful at the edges; it does not mean the chart should be stretched to fill every hole.
Build one arrangement map before placing beads
Label boards A1, A2, B1, and B2, then record the chart coordinates each covers. Keep that map beside the build. When a large piece is paused or moved, the map prevents a correct tile from being returned one board too far to the left.
