Technique and reading guide

  1. US four-dc mesh: solid adds 3 dc after the shared edge; open adds ch 2, skip 2 stitch slots, then dc into the next boundary. Two dc may be worked into a previous ch-2 space when filling it.
  2. Start at the bottom of the chart. Turn after each row and alternate direction. Ch 3 counts as the first edge dc; it is not an actual dc. The first row already includes this in the foundation, so do not add it again.
  3. If the first mesh of row 1 is open, its first ch 2 is already in the foundation setup; start the first actual dc in chain 8. Later open spaces use ch 2 normally.
  4. ■ = solid; □ = open. Run counts are mesh cells, not dc counts. Repeated whole units keep both adjoining frames; this is not a seamless motif repeat.
  5. Enter your measured mesh gauge for a size estimate. Blank gauge means size is unknown; no yarn length, hook choice, washing shrinkage or finished physical sample is certified.
  6. These are original geometric mesh studies, not bead templates. No border shaping, lacets or three-dc mesh is included.
  7. Pattern identity, revision, reading direction, repeats, gauge and original credit remain in the exported plan.
