Export a pattern that remains clear away from the editor

PNG is convenient for a phone or a quick reference, SVG keeps hard edges sharp when you zoom or place a chart in a layout, and PDF is useful when a maker needs a printed legend and predictable page breaks. These are delivery choices, not different pattern versions; the grid and palette should remain the same.

For the koi, keep an SVG as the archive preview, print the PDF for row work, and use a smaller PNG at the craft table. Avoid relying on a screenshot when a real export can preserve coordinates, transparency, and the color key.

Look for a scale cue or written dimensions in the export. A file can be visually correct and still print at an unusable size if the document has no clear physical reference. Transparent cells should remain visibly distinct from white beads and page background; check the legend rather than guessing from a checkerboard preview.

Before printing the koi chart, confirm that 58 columns and 44 rows are present and that the quiet water background has not been cropped. If a page break cuts a feature, change the print layout or use a tile export with repeated coordinate labels.

Open the exported file beside the creator preview and compare orientation, dimensions, color names, and empty cells. Then reopen the project or creator link and confirm that the same dimensions and palette are still selected. Export quality includes recoverability: another person should know which chart is authoritative.

Keep a version note with the date, grid, palette mode, dither mode, and intended format. If you later improve one edge, make a new export set rather than mixing a PDF from one version with a PNG from another.
